Anand Ranganathan

Chief AI Officer at Unscrambl

Anand Ranganathan has had a long and varied career in the technology industry, beginning in 2000 as a Research Assistant and PhD Student at UIUC, where they worked on the development of Gaia, a middleware for Pervasive Computing Environments. In 2001, they had an Internship at Microsoft Corporation. From 2005 to 2015, they held a number of roles at IBM, including Global Technical Ambassador for Big Data, where they evangelized IBM's Big Data products and services, and worked on growing IBM's Big Data business worldwide. Anand was also a Research Staff Member, and worked on a wide range of research topics from Data Stream Processing to Software Composition. Finally, from 2015 to present, they have been the Chief AI Officer at Unscrambl, Inc, where they have led the conceptualization, design and development of Unscrambl's various AI-based products, including Qbo, which allows non-technical users to ask questions of databases using natural language and gain insights from the data in a self-service manner.

Anand Ranganathan completed their BTech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 2000. Anand then went on to earn their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2005.
