Josh Backfield

Josh Backfield is a Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in software development and network security. Currently employed at SPARC, a division of Booz Allen Hamilton, since January 2016, Josh has contributed to the VA's VBMS system by identifying critical performance issues and maintaining code quality. Prior to this role, Josh held several positions at Dell SecureWorks from May 2006 to January 2016, including primary developer for the internal UI for Security Analysts and active involvement in multiple application projects related to security event analysis. Earlier experience includes roles at LURHQ Corporation and as a Network Security Analyst, focusing on the Sherlock system to detect security breaches. Educational credentials include an M.S. in Computer Science from DePaul University and a B.S. in Electronic Systems from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
