Silvan Kuttimalai

Silvan Kuttimalai has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Silvan is currently working as a Deep Learning Engineer at Untether AI since March 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Compiler Engineer at Lemurian Labs from May 2022 to March 2023.

From 2019 to 2022, Silvan worked at 1QBit, where they held the position of Research Scientist and Computational Physicist. In these roles, they helped industry partners solve optimization problems using specialized computational hardware and developed a flexible computational framework for problem-solving using physics-inspired algorithms.

Silvan also worked as a Sessional Lecturer at The University of British Columbia from January 2022 to April 2022. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory from October 2016 to February 2019.

Silvan's work experience also includes serving as a Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher at Durham University from October 2013 to October 2016.

Silvan Kuttimalai's education history begins in 2006 when they enrolled at The University of Göttingen to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Physics. Silvan completed this degree in 2011. In the midst of their undergraduate studies, Kuttimalai had the opportunity to study at UC Santa Barbara for a year in 2009-2010, focusing on Physics. Following the completion of their Bachelor's Degree, Kuttimalai furthered their education by pursuing a Master's Degree in Physics at The University of Göttingen from 2011 to 2013. Subsequently, they joined Durham University in 2013 to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics, which they completed in 2016.
