Jie Mei

Jie Mei is a seasoned professional in the field of artificial intelligence and software development, currently serving as a Senior Applied Scientist at Microsoft since October 2018, where contributions include leading the development of AI models for conversation understanding and enhancing Large Language Models for Azure and key Microsoft AI products. As a co-founder of AI4Life Institute, a non-profit organization established to research AI applications aimed at improving human potential, Jie is actively engaged in interdisciplinary collaboration. Additionally, Jie holds the position of Venture Scout at UpHonest Capital, focusing on early-stage investments in startups. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Scientist at Dalhousie University, where research concentrated on Natural Language Processing and big data efficiency, complemented by academic qualifications from Dalhousie University, culminating in a Master’s degree in Computer Science.
