Kevin O'Brien

Kevin O'Brien has a diverse work experience starting from their current position as Chief Scientist at Verde International, where they use advanced behavioral, econometric, and financial models to automate underwriting and loan pricing for financial institutions. Kevin also holds the same role at Uplinq Financial Technologies, where they leverage insights and analytics to empower SMB lenders in making credit decisions.

Before their current positions, Kevin worked as a Research Psychologist and Data Scientist at the US Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory, where they conducted research on visual protection and performance. Prior to that, they were an ORISE Postdoc and Software Programmer at the same laboratory.

Kevin has also worked as an Independent Consultant, specializing in psychophysics, and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Georgia.

Kevin O'Brien is currently pursuing a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Data Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, with an expected completion date in 2024. Prior to that, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Psychology from The University of Georgia in 2015. Kevin also holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Psychology from The University of Georgia, which they obtained in 2012. Kevin's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology, also from The University of Georgia, which they completed in 2009.

In addition to their formal degrees, Kevin has obtained various certifications related to their education and field. These certifications were all obtained at the University of Colorado Boulder, with completion dates ranging from March 2022 to July 2023.
