Matt Childs

Matt Childs has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Matt is currently serving as the VP of Engineering at Upp Technologies Ltd, where they have been in this role since January 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Engineering Lead at the same company from September 2021 to January 2023. Before joining Upp Technologies, Matt worked at Slalom as a Consultant - Senior Software Engineer from February 2019 to November 2019. Matt also worked as a Consultant at Slalom from September 2018 to November 2019 and as a Consultant from May 2015 to August 2018.

In 2014, Matt worked at ABACO SpA as a Technical Delivery Consultant, where they were responsible for the integration and delivery of core products and API's, as well as automation of manual deployment processes. From August 2011 to July 2013, they served as a Business Consultant at Atos Consulting. In 2010, Matt worked at Conchango (EMC Consulting) as an Associate Consultant, where they primarily focused on software testing and migration projects. Matt started their career as an Industrial Placement at Conchango in 2008.

Matt Childs attended Bournemouth University from 2006 to 2010, where they completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing (Hons) and achieved a 2:1 classification. In 2013 to 2014, Matt attended the Chinese Language Center at the National Taichung University of Education in Taiwan to participate in the Chinese Language Program, focusing on Chinese Language and Literature. In 2016, they briefly studied Chinese Language at the SOAS University of London. Matt also holds additional certifications including an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate obtained from Amazon Web Services in June 2017 and a Certified Scrum Master acquired from the Scrum Alliance in June 2011.
