Thomas Ekvall

Thomas Ekvall is the current CIO & Head of IT Staff at UPPSALA KOMMUN. Thomas has held various positions at several companies throughout their career.

Thomas began their career in 1984 as an Officer at 1st Signal Regiment, Enköping. Thomas then joined the Swedish Armed Forces in 1977 and served as a Military Officer Army until 2000.

In 2000, they became Manager of network planning at Tele2 Sverige AB. Thomas was promoted to Director of Operations at Tele2 in 2001 and held that position until 2004 when they became HR Director at Tele2 Sweden.

In 2007, Thomas left Tele2 Sweden to join Carlsberg Breweries as their Group VP of Human Resources. Thomas stayed with Carlsberg until 2011 when they accepted a position as Direktör Verksamhetsstöd at Medical Products Agency Läkemedelsverket.

Thomas remained with Medical Products Agency until 2018 when they were appointed CIO & Head, IT Staff at UPPSALA KOMMUN.

Thomas Ekvall attended the Swedish Defence College.
