Cheri Tsukagoshi

Cheri Tsukagoshi has a diverse work experience across various industries. Cheri worked as a Customer Success Engineer at KrakenFlex (Octopus Energy Group) from October 2023 to the present. In their previous role as a Software Engineer at SmartRyde from January 2022 to January 2023, they were part of a team that developed a complex single page application booking system. Cheri used Java and the Spring framework to build GraphQL APIs for smooth backend calls and created reusable React components with TypeScript using SOLID principles for the frontend.

Prior to that, Cheri worked as an Assistant Language Teacher in the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET) from August 2016 to June 2021. Cheri organized cultural exchange events, collaborated with Japanese Teachers of English (JTEs) on engaging activities for students, and managed multiple requests for lesson plans simultaneously.

Cheri also gained experience in the media industry, working at SKY TV New Zealand from October 2011 to July 2016. Cheri served as an Assistant Channel Manager and Channel Co-ordinator for SKY Movies, where they planned, programmed, and coordinated movie channels, collaborated with movie distributors, and successfully launched a new channel. Additionally, they worked as an Advertising Sales Co-ordinator, creating effective television advertising schedules and ensuring client satisfaction and campaign success.

In the early stages of their career, Cheri worked as a Customer Services Representative at AUT Millennium from April 2007 to December 2011, where they responded to member requests and managed member data. Cheri also gained voluntary work experience as a Competitions Assistant at Oceania Football Confederation from March 2010 to November 2010, assisting in the delivery of OFC competitions.

Additionally, Cheri obtained the Introduction to Technical Writing certification from Udemy in February 2023 and achieved the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test N2 Level certification from The Japan Foundation in December 2020.
