Max Weiss is a dedicated scientist with extensive experience in cell culture media and molecular biology. Currently employed at UPSIDE Foods since February 2020, Max has held positions ranging from Scientist I to Senior Research Associate and Research Associate. Prior to this role, Max contributed as a Graduate Student at the University of Chicago, conducting research under Dr. David Kovar, focusing on the self-organization of the actin cytoskeleton using fission yeast. Max's earlier work includes various positions at the National Cancer Institute and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, where impactful studies were conducted on actin dynamics during exocytosis and membrane remodeling, as well as characterizing formin protein FMN2. Academic credentials include a Master of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science degree in the same field from the University of Michigan.
