Yulong Liu, PhD, is an accomplished R&D Scientist II at UPSIDE Foods, with a history of significant contributions to cell line development and differentiation media formulation. Liu has led high-throughput screening platform development that achieved over eightfold improvements in lipid accumulation and reduced differentiation time substantially. Previously, as R&D Scientist I, Liu managed the Cultivate Fish team, pioneering stable fish cell lines. Additional roles include Co-Chair of the Board for the Tufts University Center for Cellular Agriculture Industry Consortium, where strategic directions and evaluation of technical proposals are provided. Experience as a graduate student researcher at UC Davis involved advancing ovarian biology through single-cell RNA sequencing. Liu has also consulted for biotech startups and co-founded EMed Research Center, focusing on traditional medicine's efficacy. A PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology was obtained from UC Davis, following a BS in Genetics, Cell, and Developmental Biology from Arizona State University.
