Aaron Deykin

Chief Medical Officer And Head Of Research And Development at Upstream Bio

Aaron Deykin has a diverse and extensive work experience in the medical and research field. Aaron is currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer and Head of Research and Development at Upstream Bio since 2022. Prior to this, they held several senior leadership positions at Biogen, including Senior Vice President, Clinical Sciences and Vice President-Late Stage Clinical Development. At Biogen, they led various clinical development activities, including for multiple sclerosis, stroke, traumatic brain injury, and epilepsy. Aaron also served as the Vice President of Multiple Sclerosis Clinical Development and the Vice President of Pulmonary, Fibrosis, and Tissue Injury Clinical Development.

Before joining Biogen, Aaron worked at Harvard Medical School as an Assistant Professor of Medicine from 1999 to 2010. Aaron also had roles at Brigham and Women's Hospital, where they served as the Medical Director of the Pulmonary Function Laboratory and Lung Transplantation, as well as the Associate Director of the Asthma Research Center.

Throughout their career, Aaron has demonstrated expertise in clinical sciences, research and development, strategic planning, and leadership.

Aaron Deykin attended Roxbury Latin School from 1979 to 1983. Aaron then went on to study at Dartmouth College from 1983 to 1987, where they obtained their AB degree with a focus on Psychology and Biology. Following this, Aaron enrolled at Harvard Medical School from 1988 to 1992, achieving their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in the field of Medicine.
