Michela Garrison

Michela Garrison, MPH, is a MEL Director for Upstream USA. Michela leads state-level monitoring, evaluation, and learning to track progress and to measure outcomes at health centers implementing Upstream’s model across North Carolina.

Michela is deeply committed to improving the quality of and access to patient-centered sexual health care. She and has domestic and international experience in sexual reproductive health program evaluation, clinic quality improvement, project management, research, and sexual health education. Prior to her current role, Michela led monitoring, evaluation, and learning for SHIFT NC’s (Sexual Health Initiatives For Teens) clinic quality improvement portfolio which encompassed multi-year federal and private foundation funded initiatives to improve the quality of teen-friendly sexual and reproductive health services across North Carolina.

Michela received a Master of Public Health in Maternal Child Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She lives in Durham, NC and enjoys reading, cooking and eating, and all things outdoors
