Michael Sobota

Michael Sobota currently serves as the Head of Engineering and Technology at Uptempo, a position held since August 2025. Prior to this role, Michael was the VP of Engineering at Uplight from March 2019 to July 2025, overseeing engineering efforts in multiple areas such as Customer Engagement and Grid Flexibility, with a focus on building a platform for managing energy grid demand and advancing decarbonization. Michael’s experience includes serving as Director of Developer Experience at Charter Communications, COO of Zipskee, Consultant at Slalom and Deloitte, and positions in IT support and teaching assistance early in the career. Michael earned a BS in Information & Process Management from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
