Aaron Kimberlin

Director of Art and Restoration at Upward Projects

Aaron Kimberlin has worked in a variety of roles across a range of companies since 2009. In 2009, they were a Real Estate Development Consultant at Lawndale Christian Development Corporation. From 2010 to 2011, they were a Housing Development Specialist at the City of Phoenix, where they assisted in the successful application of a $30 million dollar HUD HOPE VI Revitalization Grant. During this time, they also developed green building rehabilitation guidelines and prepared a Federal Demolition/Disposition Application for the Frank Luke Addition housing development. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Faculty Associate and Assistant Director at Arizona State University's School of Geographical Sciences & Urban Planning. In this role, they co-instructed and project managed City of Mesa Urban Square studio with the City of Mesa, supervised Master's level planning students, researched, planned, marketed, and branded the "Place Makers Collaboratory," and managed Transit Town Ghosts, Transit Town Development database, and National Trust for Theirtoric Preservation Building Survey student research projects in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. In 2013, they became an Assistant Vice President and Project Manager at MidFirst Bank, where they were responsible for planning and implementation of construction, real estate, and facilities related projects. From 2018 to 2019, they were a Project Engineer II and Project Manager at McShane Construction Company. Finally, from 2019 to present, they have been a Director of Art and Restoration and Director of Design and Development at Upward Projects Restaurant Group, Postino WineCafe, Joyride Taco House, Windsor, and Federal Pizza.

Aaron Kimberlin obtained a Master's degree in Urban Planning & Policy from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2009. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Housing & Urban Development - (Real Estate Development, Construction, Urban Planning, Architecture) from Arizona State University in 2006.
