Michael Shmukler

Michael Shmukler is an accomplished systems engineer with extensive experience in battery technology and energy systems. Currently at Urban Electric Power since March 2013, Michael focuses on the design and development of Ni-Zn and Zn-Mn battery technology while working on ruggedizing and commercializing these systems. Previous roles include serving as a Senior Energy Research Engineer at the CUNY Energy Institute, where responsibilities included designing and fabricating electrodes and flow-assisted batteries. Michael also contributed as the Lead Electrical Engineer at Brooklyn Motorized Corp., leading teams to develop a production-ready electric motorcycle and optimizing battery systems. Early career experience includes positions in IT and administrative support, with a foundational education in Electrical Engineering from New York University - Polytechnic School of Engineering.
