Alexander Haferland

Alexander Haferland has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Alexander is currently serving as the Geschäftsführer (CEO) and CTO at urban energy GmbH since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Lecturer for Renewable Energies at Fernstudieninstitut - Berliner Hochschule für Technik (BHT) starting from April 2020. From July 2019 to December 2021, they held the position of Head of Technology Consulting and Head of Branch Berlin at Novatec Consulting GmbH.

Before joining Novatec, Alexander was the Head of Development and Operations at BTC - Business Technology Consulting AG, PSI Software AG from October 2012 to June 2019. Alexander also gained experience as a Team Lead and Project Manager for Information Security at Bundesdruckerei from May 2009 to September 2012. Prior to that, they held roles such as Project Manager and IT Specialist at PAREXEL from May 2006 to April 2009, and Software Developer and Configuration Manager at Siemens Healthcare from September 2005 to March 2006.

Overall, Alexander Haferland has demonstrated expertise in areas such as renewable energies, technology consulting, development and operations, information security, and IT project management throughout their career.

Alexander Haferland began their education in 2001 at the Siemens Technik Akademie Berlin, where they obtained an Associate Engineer degree in Computer Science and Economics in 2003. Alexander then attended the Berlin University of Applied Sciences Berlin (BHT) from 2003 to 2005, earning a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Communication Systems. Later on, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Renewables from the Institute of Distance Learning - Berlin University of Applied Sciences and Technology, completing their studies in 2017. In addition to their formal education, Alexander has obtained several certifications such as Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE) in 2011, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) in 2009, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) in 2008, and ITIL Foundation in 2006.
