Hola! My name is Ruby Dajani, and I am excited to join Urban Initiatives as the Director of Learning. I have been in education for the past 8 years teaching Spanish and Physical Education. I was also the head Track and Field coach. I am currently completing my Master's at NEIU in Higher Educational Leadership through a fantastic program designed to prepare leadership that will create change responsive to the educational needs of Latinx students and an increasingly diverse college student population. Some of my interests include restorative practices, social justice, trauma-informed teaching, self-care, and collaborating with stakeholders to create change. In my time off, I love working out, trying new food, traveling on a budget, and spending time with my husband and my 3 dogs, Sophie (11), Bentley (8), and Harlem (4).
