Jared Leidich

Co-Founder & CTO at Urban Sky

Jared Leidich is the Co-Founder and CTO at Urban Sky, a company that focuses on providing innovative products and services for the aviation industry. Prior to joining Urban Sky, Jared was the Lead Mechanical Engineer at World View, an aerospace corporation, where they were responsible for overseeing all of the company's mechanical designs and managing a team of 4 mechanical engineers.

During their time at World View, Jared was the lead designer and hardware lead for the development of a stratospheric craft that is now fully operational and regularly flies in the stratosphere. Jared also led a team of 6 people for the development of a parafoil autopilot, which included novel control loops for operation in high speed, low air density environments. In addition, Jared was a leading contributor on the patented design of the first stratospheric parafoil system and the Riser Release Auto-Flare system for automated landing of parafoil systems.

Jared is a licensed skydiver with over 100 jumps and a B (intermediate) license. Jared has also contributed to the design of the Extreme Altitude Guidance and Landing Eagle (EAGLE) Aerial Guidance Unit (AGU) and "The ROC" semi-autonomous powered parachute system for testing steerable guided parachutes.

Jared Leidich received a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.
