Martin Bell

Martin Bell serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Urban Systems Ltd., overseeing an 800-person employee-owned professional practice dedicated to fostering vibrant communities. Since joining Urban Systems in September 2002, Martin has played a pivotal role in leading the organization and co-leading initiatives such as Urban Matters and the Urban Systems Foundation. Martin is also a founding partner of the Edmonton branch, having built a team that caters to local and provincial governments, First Nations, and private sector clients. Prior experience includes partnering in the Local Government Consulting Practice at Urban Systems from January 1997 to 2002. Martin holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Queen's University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Canadian Public Policy from St. Francis Xavier University, along with additional education in governance and finance.
