Carlos A. Cano

Carlos A. Cano has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Their most recent position was as the Chief Operating Officer at Urban Upbound since February 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Director of Programs and Development at the same company from July 2020 to February 2022.

Carlos also worked as an Associate Director and Program Manager for Worker Cooperatives at Urban Upbound from January 2019 to July 2020, and November 2015 to December 2018 respectively. Carlos A. started their career at Urban Upbound as a Data Coordinator for Jobs-Plus Astoria from February 2015 to October 2015.

Before joining Urban Upbound, Carlos had experiences in different organizations. Carlos A. worked in Development at Impact Network from September 2014 to February 2015. Carlos A. also had a role in Business Operations at Patrick Smith Botanicals from January 2013 to December 2014.

Carlos gained managerial experience as a Manager at The Merchant Bar & Restaurant from April 2011 to November 2013. Their early career includes roles as a Risk Analyst at BBVA in 2005, a Field Examiner at APOYO Consultoría in 2002, and an Assistant to Congressman Rivadeneyra at Congreso de la República del Perú in 2001.

Carlos A. Cano has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Nonprofit Management, which they earned from The New School between 2007 and 2010. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidad Ricardo Palma, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. In 2019, Carlos enrolled in the Participatory Management Certificate Program at Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR), where they are currently pursuing specialized studies in this field.
