Ing Shaun Siek

Ing Shaun Siek is a Senior Product Designer at Urbint, a SaaS workflow and risk management system. Ing Shaun joined the company in 2019 and has been leading the UX research and design of Urbint's core product. Ing Shaun has conducted exploratory research including contextual inquiry, remote and in-person user interviews, and iterative testing to validate problems and design proposals. Ing Shaun has collaborated across sales, deployment, machine learning, data engineering, software engineering and product management to iteratively design, prototype, test, and develop application features. Ing Shaun has also advocated for design scalability by evaluating and introducing processes, reviews, and critiques to create design awareness and promote user empathy in cross functional teams.

Prior to joining Urbint, Ing Shaun Siek worked as a Product Designer at 1010data from 2017 to 2019. In this role, they advocated for and spearheaded the creation of 1010data's design system through examining the technical and design debt accrued by the company and demonstrating the ROI through a cost-savings and efficiency lens. Ing Shaun also defined design principles, voice and tone guidelines, a color framework, an icon set and crafted a library of over 50 web components that heavily emphasizes accessibility and ease of interaction. Additionally, they served as a UX Engineer.

From 2016 to 2017, Ing Shaun Siek was a User Experience Design Co-op at Colgate-Palmolive. In this role, they led the design overhaul of an internal business performance review application and reworked many user flows and all interfaces which led to leadership approval and adoption worldwide by over 1200 users. Ing Shaun also leveraged a user-first approach by introducing UX research practices including user interviews and usability testing to the department.

In 2015, Ing Shaun Siek served as a Mathematics Tutor and Grader at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Additionally, they were an Application Development Intern at Colgate-Palmolive and a Design and Development Intern at Goldman Sachs.

Ing Shaun Siek received their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Economics from Rutgers University between 2014 and 2017. Ing Shaun obtained an Associate's Degree in Mathematics from Ocean County College in 2013-2014. Prior to that, they attended Wesley Methodist School, KL, Malaysia from 2008 to 2012, where they completed their high school education.
