Lida Colón

Lida Colón is an experienced swim instructor and aquatics supervisor with a career spanning over a decade in various educational and aquatic environments. Currently serving as a Swim Instructor at URBN Playground and Brooklyn Swims, Lida teaches students of all ages aquatic skills while emphasizing safety, focus, determination, and respect. In addition to instructing, Lida holds the position of Aquatics Deck Supervisor at the YMCA of Greater New York, managing swim programs for local 2nd graders, overseeing a team of lifeguards and instructors, and coordinating private swim lessons. Lida's educational background includes a PhD in Rhetorics from Syracuse University, a Master of Arts in Rhetoric and Composition from Long Island University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English Literature from Mount Saint Mary College.
