Raisa Borshchigova has a Master's degree in Broadcast Journalism from Réseau CFJ and a Diploma in Foreign Languages and Literatures from Chechen State University. Raisa has extensive experience in various roles, such as Grants Manager at International Rescue Committee, Senior Program Officer at Urgent Action Fund for Women's Human Rights, Research Fellow at Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and Program Coordinator at Peacebuilding UK. Raisa has also worked as a Member of Public Oversight Commission for Human Rights, as an Assistant, interpreter, and filmmaker at MAGNETO PRESSE, and as a Local editor at openDemocracy. Raisa has a background in advocating for women's rights and human rights in the Northern Caucasus, particularly in Chechnya.
