William Somers

William Somers currently serves as Chief Engineer for Propulsion Systems at Ursa Major, where responsibilities include leading SRM projects through design, development, production, testing, and delivery. Previous experience includes serving as Chief Engineer at Aerojet Rocketdyne, overseeing solid rocket booster programs, and leading teams from design to production. At Northrop Grumman, William held dual roles as Test and Loaded Motor Team Lead and Chief Engineer for Navy Programs, directing test activities for an interceptor vehicle and managing three vehicle stages. William also contributed as Lead Engineer for Propulsion at Engility Corporation, ensuring mission assurance for launch vehicle programs, and has held positions at Northrop Grumman Technical Services and ATK as a staff propulsion engineer and propulsion engineer, respectively. William holds a Master's degree in Physics from Brigham Young University and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of California, Riverside.
