Kevin Moscatiello

Kevin Moscatiello has over 40 years of work experience in the field of satellite and spacecraft operations. Kevin began their career in 1979 as a Spacecraft Controller for the United States Air Force, where they worked with polar orbit weather spacecraft. Moscatiello then joined Comsat General in 1983, where they served as the Lead Satellite Controller, responsible for training and supervising spacecraft controllers and overseeing equipment maintenance.

In 1985, Moscatiello joined the American Satellite Company as an Earth Station Technician, where they worked on the uplinking and downlinking of data, video, and voice. Kevin maintained various equipment, including antennas, HPA's, LNA's, and data circuits.

Moscatiello then worked at RCA as a Spacecraft Controller, overseeing 7 RCA Astro spacecraft. Kevin'sresponsibilities included commanding, ranging, and telemetry monitoring. In 1992, they joined GE as a Spacecraft Analyst, where they had primary responsibility for two RCA Astro satellites. Kevin'sduties included fuel accounting, determining the spacecraft's orbit, planning and executing maneuvers, and maintaining the spacecraft's overall health and performance.

From 1995 to 2014, Moscatiello worked at SES as an Engineer, specifically as a software test engineer. Kevin was responsible for testing the in-house satellite ground control system called Scorpio, which controlled multiple types of satellites from different manufacturers. During their time at SES, Moscatiello supported multiple spacecraft launches and in-orbit tests.

Most recently, Moscatiello worked at US Electrodynamics Inc. as an Operations Manager. Prior to this role, they served as an Earth Station Technician. Working at USEI allowed Moscatiello to return to their electronics roots and work with RF technologies. In both roles, they faced numerous challenges in a small company setting.
