Kevin began their career in 1979 as a Spacecraft Controller for the United States Air Force, where they worked with polar orbit weather spacecraft. From 1995 to 2014, Moscatiello worked at SES as an Engineer, specifically as a software test engineer. Kevin was responsible for testing the in-house satellite ground control system called Scorpio, which controlled multiple types of satellites from different manufacturers. During their time at SES, Moscatiello supported multiple spacecraft launches and in-orbit tests.

Most recently, Moscatiello worked at US Electrodynamics Inc. as an Operations Manager. Prior to this role, they served as an Earth Station Technician. Working at USEI allowed Moscatiello to return to their electronics roots and work with RF technologies. In both roles, they faced numerous challenges in a small company setting.
