Dr. James L. Knox

Dr. James L. Knox currently serves as the Chief Information Officer at Navy Recruiting Command since October 2021, following a tenure as Chief Information Security Officer at a private company. Notable prior roles include Roanoke Area Manager and Salem VAMC Chief Information Officer at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Information Technology Manager at USDA, and Senior Systems Analyst at General Dynamics Information Technology. Dr. Knox also held the position of Senior IT Specialist at DISA and served in the United States Air Force for over two decades, culminating as Chief of Command and Control Cybersecurity Systems. Academic achievements include a Doctor of Science in Cybersecurity from the University of Fairfax, a Master's in Management and Information Systems from Webster University, and a dual Bachelor's in International Affairs and Social Science from Florida State University.
