Jim Teeters

Jim Teeters is the current head of the Offshore Ratings Office at US Sailing. Jim has held this position since January of 2005. Prior to that, they were with the Offshore Racing Association for over 20 years, where they served as Associate Offshore Director. In that role, they were responsible for the implementation and management of the Offshore Racing Rule.

Before their time with the Offshore Racing Association, Jim spent 16 years with Sparkman & Stephens, LLC, where they served as Head of Scientific Department. In that role, they developed software tools for designing yachts, including hull/keel/rudder geometry modeling and performance prediction. Jim was also a member of 5 America's Cup design teams, working in the area of hydrodynamic research and performance prediction.

Jim Teeters has a Master's Degree in Ocean Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Dartmouth College.
