Stu Gilfillen

Director of Education at US Sailing

Stu Gilfillen is the Director of Education at US Sailing. Prior to this, they were a Co-Founder of Registration Solutions, Head Sailing Coach at Providence College, and a Board Member of the United Safe Boating Institute (USBI). Stu has also served as a Program Director for both the Wickford Sailing Association and the Beverly Yacht Club.

Stu has always been passionate about sailing and their dedication to the sport has led him to their current role at US Sailing. In this position, they are responsible for overseeing all educational programs and initiatives. Stu is also responsible for developing new programs and working with a variety of partners to ensure that US Sailing remains the preeminent authority on sailboat racing.

Stu’s commitment to safe boating is evident in their work with the United Safe Boating Institute. As a Board Member, they helped develop educational materials and programs that are designed to promote safe boating practices. Stu has also been instrumental in fundraising efforts to support the work of the USBI.

Through their work with various sailing organizations, Stu has developed a deep understanding of the sport and its many complexities. Stu is a highly respected member of the sailing community and their expertise is sought after by both sailors and sailing organizations alike.

Stu Gilfillen attended Roger Williams University and Governor Dummer Academy.
