Seema Iyer

Seema Iyer is a professional with extensive experience in research, strategic planning, and program management, currently serving as Senior Director at USA for UNHCR since November 2022. In this role, Iyer leads The Hive, an innovation lab focused on integrating data science and new technologies to improve fundraising efforts for refugees. Prior experience includes positions as Program Director for the Real Estate & Economic Development Program, Director at the Baltimore Neighborhood Indicators Alliance-Jacob France Institute, and Chief of Research & Strategic Planning for the City of Baltimore. Additionally, Iyer served as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania and began a career as an Analyst at Andersen Consulting. Iyer earned a Ph.D. in Urban Planning from the University of Michigan and holds both BA and MA degrees in Math, Russian, and Regional Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
