Andrew P. Scott is the Director of Photo & Video News Gathering at USA Today. Previously, they served as the Sports & Business Photo Editor and Night Photo Editor at The Dallas Morning News from January 1997 to December 2007. In their role at The Dallas Morning News, they advocated visual philosophy in all facets of daily newspaper production, edited live 1A, Metro, and Sports covers, and supervised photographers and technicians working under tight deadlines. Andrew also coordinated team photo coverage of high-profile sporting events such as the 2006 Olympic Winter Games, Rose Bowl, NFL, NBA, NHL, college and high school playoffs. In addition, they coordinated, evaluated and implemented digital photo technology and training across the entire department, guiding budgets for capital purchases of necessary technology and equipment. Andrew served as the photo department liaison to the information technology department, advocating the needs of photographers and editors. Andrew also collaborated with IT to maintain updated Mac images and color calibration for staff computers, providing guidance for efficient workflows using Photo Mechanic, Adobe Photoshop, Filemaker Pro, SCC MediaServer and CCI NewsDesk.

Andrew P. Scott graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in Journalism & Mass Communications and Political Science.
