Kathryn Palmer

Kathryn Palmer is currently serving as the 2024 Elections Reporting Fellow at USA TODAY, focusing on key races in California and national election news. Previous experience includes freelance journalism with a focus on migration and human rights, reporting for various publications such as Foreign Policy and Latin American News Dispatch. Kathryn has also worked as a Graduate Assistant at the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute and held positions as an Editorial Intern and Contributing Analyst at NewsGuard. Earlier roles encompass teaching English in France, serving as News Editor and Reporter at The Petaluma Argus-Courier, and contributing to Capital Public Radio and City on a Hill Press. Kathryn Palmer holds a Master's degree in Global Journalism and French Studies from New York University and a Bachelor's degree in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, alongside additional educational certifications in journalism and social sciences from UC Berkeley and Sciences Po.
