Maya Op de Beke, MS, currently serves as a Senior Program Manager at USAging, with a background that includes roles as Program Manager and a history of experience in various pertinent positions. With a Master of Science in Gerontology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from York University, Maya Op de Beke has worked in Virginia state government on Medicaid initiatives, engaged in dementia-related academic research, and provided home health care in Northern Virginia. Previous roles include Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University, where responsibilities included data collection and analysis for caregiver support initiatives, and a Policy Analyst position at the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services. Additional experience includes serving in home care and health aide roles.
USAging
USAging is the national association representing and supporting the network of Area Agencies on Aging and advocating for the Title VI Native American Aging Programs. Our members help older adults and people with disabilities throughout the United States live with optimal health, well-being, independence and dignity in their homes and communities and support their caregivers. USAging and our members work to improve the quality of life and health of older adults and people with disabilities, including supporting people with chronic illness, people living with dementia, family caregivers and others who want to age well at home and in the community. Together, we are ensuring that all people can age well. Our members are the local leaders that develop, coordinate and deliver a wide range of home and community-based services to support people to age well, including information and referral/assistance, case management, home-delivered and congregate meals, in-home services, caregiver supports, transportation, evidence-based health and wellness programs, long-term care ombudsman programs and more. USAging is dedicated to supporting the success of our members through advancing public policy, sparking innovation, strengthening the capacity of its members, raising their visibility and working to drive excellence in the fields of aging and home and community-based services.
