Scott Crean has extensive experience in the field of strength and conditioning and performance coaching. Scott is currently the Head of Performance at USAP since July 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Strength and Conditioning for the Flying Fijians at Fiji Rugby Union from September 2020 to July 2023. Scott also worked as a Fitness Consultant for New Zealand Rugby's Professional Referee Group from January 2020 to December 2022. In addition, Scott has owned their own fitness business, Custom Fitness, from February 2021 to March 2022. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for Montpellier Hérault Rugby from July 2017 to June 2019, where the team reached the French Top 14 Competition finals in 2018. Scott also held the role of Performance Coach at Pure Sports Medicine from December 2016 to May 2017. From January 2010 to June 2016, Scott was the Strength and Conditioning Coach for ASM Clermont Auvergne, where they led the return to play program and implemented best practice protocols. Scott was contracted as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Georgian National Rugby Team from January 2013 to October 2015, including a 3-month intensive preparation for the 2015 Rugby World Cup. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Personal Trainer for Fit2u Personal Training and as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for Bay of Plenty Rugby Union.
Scott Crean completed their education at two different institutions. Scott attended The University of Waikato from 2001 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Sport & Leisure Studies degree. Their field of study during this period included Exercise Prescription and Psychology. Following this, Scott pursued further education at Edith Cowan University from 2007 to 2009. During this time, they obtained a Masters degree in Exercise Science with a focus on Strength & Conditioning.
