Vishal Jain

Vishal Jain's work experience includes being a Staff Data Scientist at Ushur since 2022. Prior to that, they were a Lead Data Scientist at nference from 2020 to 2022, where they created the Relationship Explorer tool for extracting and clustering relationships between entity pairs from biomedical texts. Vishal also worked as a Data Scientist at nference from 2020 to 2021. Before joining nference, Vishal was a Graduate Research Assistant at Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute from 2018 to 2020, where they developed intelligent agents for playing text-adventure games. Vishal also worked as a Research Intern at Microsoft Research in 2019. Vishal has experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at McGill University from 2018 to 2019. Vishal has previous industry experience as an SDE 1 at Jio from 2016 to 2017, and as a Software Engineer at Samsung in 2015. Vishal was a Core Team Member and Manager of Events at Entrepreneurial Development Cell, IIT Guwahati from 2011 to 2015. Vishal also had a summer internship at Ulm University in 2014.

Vishal Jain pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. This educational journey took place from 2011 to 2015. Subsequently, they went on to attend McGill University, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from 2017 to 2020.
