Richard Batelaan

Richard joined USIC as Chief Operating Officer in February 2023 with 30 years of operations leadership experience in the telecommunications and information technology industries, which included operations strategy and planning, field operations, and service delivery and assurance. He most recently served as Executive Vice President of North America Operations for Lumen, prior to which he held roles in wireless engineering and product management with AT&T and served as Chief Operations Officer for Cbeyond, BroadRiver Communications, and BellSouth.net. During his tenure with Cbeyond, he received the Atlanta Telecom Professional of the Year Award for innovation in the data center space.
