Derek Walton

Derek Walton serves as Corporate Counsel at Purple, specializing in privacy law, artificial intelligence, technology transactions, SEC compliance, ESG criteria, HIPAA, employment law, and commercial contracting while supporting various departments. In addition, Walton contributes as a Volunteer Attorney at Utah Legal Services, providing pro bono legal representation. Prior experiences include roles as a Legal Extern at Intermountain Healthcare, a Law Clerk at Stilling & Harrison Health Care Law, and a Regulatory Privacy & Information Security Analyst at Sutter Health, highlighting a strong focus on compliance and legal research.
