Matthew Wappett

Matthew Wappett currently serves as the Executive Director of the Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice (UCEDD) at Utah State University since January 2017. Prior to this role, Matthew was the Co-Director of the Confucius Institute and held positions as Associate Director and Associate Professor at the University of Idaho from 2006 to January 2017, where responsibilities included overseeing grantwriting, research, and clinical functions at UCEDD. Earlier experiences include working as a Research Professional at the University of Alaska Anchorage from 2002 to 2006, providing research and evaluation support for Medicaid initiatives, and serving as an Instructor and Research Assistant at the University of Utah from 1998 to 2002. Matthew holds a Ph.D. in Special Education and Disability Policy, a Master's Degree in Educational Studies, and a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature, all from the University of Utah.
