Sarah Bird has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Sarah started their career as an Engineer - Undergraduate Trainee at Martin-Baker Aircraft Co Ltd, where they gained experience in systems engineering, test engineering, design support, and sales. Sarah then worked as a Project Manager at Aptivate, where they managed non-technical volunteers and implemented assessment tools in developing countries. Sarah also worked as a Research Assistant at MIT, focusing on technology commercialization and entrepreneurship. Sarah later served as the Chief Technology Officer at IRD - InterActive Research and Development, where they utilized technology for large-scale research studies and health services. Sarah founded SaafWater, Inc., a social enterprise aimed at reducing diarrheal disease in low-income communities. Sarah also worked as a Software Engineer at openXdata, a Full Stack Engineer & Consultant at Aptivate, and a Software Engineer at Continuum Analytics, Inc. Most recently, Sarah held various roles at Mozilla, including Senior Research and Experiments Engineer, Staff Research Engineer, and Sr. Staff Software Engineer. Sarah Bird's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in General Engineering from the University of Cambridge, which they obtained from 2000 to 2003.
