Alan McHugh

Alan McHugh has a diverse work experience in the energy industry. Alan is currently the Managing Director and President of Europe at UtilityInnovation Group starting from 2023. Prior to this role, they served as a Director at Enicity from 2021 to 2023, where they provided strategic advisory services for energy projects. Alan also worked as an Associate Director and Business Unit Manager at Kirby Engineering and Construction from 2016 to 2021. Before that, they held senior management and project management positions at EirGrid from 2005 to 2016. Alan began their career as a Design Engineer at Control Techniques Ireland from 2003 to 2005.

Alan McHugh completed a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from University College Dublin from 1999 to 2003. In 2014 to 2015, they pursued a Diploma in Business Finance from the Irish Management Institute. From 2010 to 2011, Alan obtained a Certificate in Irish Government and Politics from the Institute of Public Administration (NUI). In 2006 to 2007, they earned a Diploma in Project Management from Trinity College, Dublin. Additionally, Alan received a Certificate in Supervisory Management from the Irish Management Institute between 2004 and 2006. Most recently, from 2017 to 2018, they pursued a Diploma in International Business Development from the Irish Management Institute.
