Willem Verpoest

Willem Verpoest currently serves as a full professor at both UMC Utrecht and Utrecht University, specializing in reproductive medicine, with a focus on preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), reproductive genetics, implantation, and fertility preservation. In addition to academic roles, Willem is actively involved in various professional organizations, including as a board member for SIG ART and the Belgian Society for Reproductive Medicine, where efforts include promoting ethics in medical research on embryos. Previous positions include medical director of the Centre for Reproductive Medicine at UZ Brussel and leadership roles in multiple scientific societies dedicated to fertility research. Willem holds advanced degrees in reproductive medicine, human genetics, and management, complemented by extensive clinical experience and contributions to educational initiatives within the field.
