Filipe C.

Filipe C. has a long and varied career in the technology and finance sectors. Filipe began their career in 2016 as an Advisor for Innovation Ventures, followed by a Summer Associate Manager role at the United Nations. In 2017, they joined the Crypto Valley Association as a Corporate Member and became a Speaker, Panellist and Thought Leader for Blockchain. Filipe also took on a Lecturer role at the same time. In 2018, Filipe C. became a Partner at Obvious Capital, and a Startup Founder at 500 Startups. In 2020, they were a Startup Founder at Alchemist Accelerator and Chief Compliance Officer at HOLD.io. In 2021, they became a Startup Founder at the Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator and in 2022 was acquired by Elrond and part of the Multiversx ecosystem. During this time, they held multiple roles at Utrust, including Director of Special Projects, Chief Compliance Officer, and Chief Information Officer and Founder.

Filipe C. has a diverse educational background. Filipe obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Computer Science from the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto in 2004-2010. Filipe then went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business/Managerial Economics from the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) from 2015-2017. In 2018-2019, they completed a Blockchain Technologies degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management in Business Innovation & Application. In addition, Filipe C. has obtained several certifications, including a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS6) from ACAMS in 2019, a Blockchain & Cryptocurrencies certification from the University of California, Berkeley in 2019, an IELTS - Band 8.5 certification from the British Council in 2017, a Bloomberg Market Concepts certification from Bloomberg LP in 2016, a TOCFL certification from the National Taiwan Normal University in 2016, a MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) certification from Microsoft in 2012, an Affiliate Member certification from the International Compliance Association in 2019, and a Corporate Member certification from the Crypto Valley Association in 2017.
