Michael Gens

Michael Gens currently serves as the Executive Director of Development and Vice President of the UWL Alumni and Friends Foundation at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, a position held since June 2025. Prior to this role, Michael Gens accumulated 22 years of experience at the Iowa State University Foundation, notably as Executive Director of Development for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences from July 2006 to December 2024, where significant fundraising success and collaboration were achieved. Earlier career roles include Senior Director and Director of Development for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University, as well as Director of the Central Fund at Central College. Michael Gens began the career in development with the Iowa State University Foundation in various positions after earning a BA in Interdisciplinary studies at Central College.
