Carmen S. Christian

Carmen Christian is an experienced academic and healthcare professional currently serving as an Associate Professor at the University of the Western Cape since June 2015, with prior roles as a Senior Lecturer and Lecturer. In addition, Carmen holds the position of Academic Editor at PLOS Global Public Health since July 2022. Previous experience includes a contract lecturer role at the University of the Western Cape and a Public Healthcare Representative position at GlaxoSmithKline. From January 2006 to August 2010, Carmen worked as a Senior Tender Pharmaceutical Representative at Sandoz and was a Physiotherapist at Alexandra Psychiatric Hospital from January 2004 to December 2005. Carmen's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Economics from Stellenbosch University, a Master's Degree in Economics from the University of the Western Cape, a B. Econ (Honours) from the University of the Western Cape, and a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town.
