Aisha Spencer

Aisha Spencer is a highly accomplished academic with extensive experience in language and literature education. Currently serving as a Senior Lecturer at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Aisha has held various leadership positions including Acting Head of the Department of Literatures in English and Deputy Dean for the Faculty of Humanities and Education. Aisha has demonstrated a commitment to enhancing the academic environment, overseeing undergraduate and graduate programs, and managing departmental affairs. Aisha is also the founder of the Talk the Poem National Poetry Recitation Competition, the first of its kind in Jamaica, and serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Education and Development in the Caribbean. Aisha's educational background includes a PhD in Literatures in English, an M.A. in Literatures in English, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, among other qualifications.
