Haniph Latchman is a distinguished academic and consultant in the field of electrical and computer engineering, currently serving as a Professor at The University of the West Indies since August 2017. Prior to this, Latchman held a long-standing position at the University of Florida, where tenure spanned from January 1987 to August 2017, culminating in the title of Professor Emeritus and contributions to the Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars. Experience includes founding and directing the Laboratory for Information Systems and Telecommunications, as well as significant roles as an Information Communication and Technology Consultant and Legal Consultant from 1994 to 2015. Previous engineering experience includes serving as a Senior Transmission Engineer at Jamaica Telephone Company. Latchman's academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Science from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.
