Laurel Talabere

Visiting Professor at The University of the West Indies

Laurel Talabere is an accomplished educator and nursing professional with extensive experience in teaching and academic leadership. Currently serving as Teaching Faculty at Kaplan Faculty for NCLEX RN & PN Review and Editor for Kaplan Nursing Test Bank, Laurel has actively contributed to nursing education since 2011. As Assistant Editor of the Caribbean Journal of Nursing, Laurel highlights nursing research in the Caribbean since 2013. With a long-standing affiliation with Capital University, Laurel holds the title of Professor Emerita after a 29-year tenure and continues to engage as an Adjunct Professor. Additionally, Laurel has served as a Visiting Professor at the University of the West Indies since 1994, contributing to curriculum development and program review. Laurel's leadership experience includes serving as Chairperson for the Board of Directors of the American Lung Association of Ohio from 2001 to 2004. Educational credentials include a PhD and MA in Education and Nursing from The Ohio State University and initial studies in Chemistry and Biology at Willamette University.
