Peter Vermeir

Peter Vermeir currently serves as President of Judo Belgium and President of Judo Flanders, holding dual leadership roles since April 2024. In addition, Peter is a Coordinator Staff and Policy Officer at Ghent University Hospital since February 2019, along with positions as Liaison Officer and Head ATP-Head Nurse at UZ Gent since 2004. As a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Ghent University since September 2018, Peter focuses on teaching communication skills in healthcare. Peter is also an Academic Member of the Athens Institute for Education and Research, contributing to the Nursing Research Unit and Health Economics & Management Research Unit since March 2016. Academically, Peter has a PhD in Health Sciences from Ghent University and has completed multiple executive programs, including an EMBA from Antwerp Management School and specialized courses at prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School and The Wharton School.
