Simon Feys

Simon Feys is a dedicated medical professional currently serving as a Medical Resident at UZ Leuven since October 2020 and an Editorial Board Member for Clinical Microbiology Reviews at the American Society for Microbiology beginning in July 2025. In addition to medical residency, Simon Feys is a Postdoctoral researcher and previously held the position of Doctoral Researcher, focusing on PhD research pertaining to influenza- and COVID-19-associated pulmonary aspergillosis under the guidance of Prof. Joost Wauters. Prior experiences include medical residency in internal medicine at AZ Delta and az groeninge, as well as an internship in obstetrics, gynecology, and pediatrics at Virika Hospital. Simon Feys holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven (2020-2024) and a Bachelor of Medicine from the same institution (2015-2018), following foundational education at Sint-Vincentiuscollege Ieper (2006-2012).
