Laura Jacxsens

Laura Jacxsens has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Laura is currently working at UZA as a Resident and PhD Researcher in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery since October 2022. Prior to joining UZA, they worked at the same department as a Medical Doctor and PhD Researcher from December 2021 to October 2022. In 2020, they worked as a PhD Researcher at Universiteit Antwerpen. Laura also completed an internship and obtained a Master's in Medicine from M S Ramaiah Medical College & Hospital in Bangalore in 2019. Furthermore, they gained clinical experience through a Clinical Clerkship at National Taiwan University Hospital in 2018.

Laura Jacxsens has a strong educational background in the medical field. Laura began their education at Sint-Barbaracollege Gent from 2008 to 2014, where they pursued studies in Science & Mathematics. Following this, they enrolled at Ghent University and completed their Bachelor's degree in Medicine from 2014 to 2017. During their time at Ghent University, they also participated in a Summer School Surgery program in 2017.

Laura then continued their studies at Ghent University and obtained a Master's degree in Medicine from 2017 to 2020. Additionally, they acquired two additional certifications: Electrocardiography from Universiteit Gent in August 2020 and Medical French from Ghent University Language Centre in May 2018.

Currently, Laura is enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Medical Sciences at the University of Antwerp, which they started in 2020. Laura is furthering their specialization in the field through their ongoing residency program in Otorhinolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery at the same university.
