Charles Margarit

Analyst at V-Bio Ventures

Charles Margarit is an analyst at V-Bio Ventures. Prior to their current position, Margarit worked as a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow with VIB from October 2019 to January 2022, where they secured over 200,000 euros in funding from European federal directives and wrote unique grant proposals for submission to the EU. Charles also developed and managed two research projects for master's students and mastered synthetic biology techniques for manipulation of yeast.

From September 2016 to May 2019, Margarit worked as an e-learning content creator with edX, where they wrote and published original content to communicate complex scientific concepts to a mixed audience of 25,000+ online learners from around the globe. Margarit began their academic career as an undergraduate research fellow with UC Berkeley from May 2012 to August 2012. Charles then continued their studies as a doctoral researcher with Harvard University from September 2013 to October 2019. Charles's research focus was on the intersection of microbial ecology and evolutionary biology.

Charles Margarit received their Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from New Mexico State University and their Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from Harvard University.
